| Chiropractic is a health care model that focuses on the structure
and proper function of the human body, rather than focusing on
symptoms and disease. For example, instead of giving a rotator
cuff problem a cortisone injection, we will increase its function,
strength, and range of motion. The same thing goes for neck and
back problems. Drugs and surgery should be a last resort. Our
office also offers nutritional consultations, nutritional products,
and training/sports consultations. We also participate with all
insurances except Medicaid.
Chiropractic is a health
care profession that focuses on dysfunction of the musculoskeletal
system and nervous system, and the affects of this dysfunction
on your health. Chiropractic care is used primarily to treat neuromusculoskeletal
complaints. A few common examples are back pain, neck pain and
headaches.
Chiropractors practice
a drugless, non-invasive hands-on approach to health care. Each
patient at Back In Action can expect an consultation, examination,
diagnosis, and customized treatment to suit their needs.
The most common treatment
performed is the chiropractic adjustment. This procedure can be
delivered manually as well as in a non-force manner. The purpose
of the adjustment is to restore joint mobility and to stimulate
the nervous system at spinal levels that have become hypomobile
- or restricted in movement - as a result of tissue dysfunction.
This dysfunction can be caused by physical inbalances that are
exposed by repetitive motion, or by a single traumatic event.
In both instances, the affected areas have undergone physical
and chemically mediated changes that can cause inflammation, pain
and decreased function. Adjustments of the areas causing the dysfunction
restore mobility and affect the nervous system in a manner that
allows adaption to external stresses encountered everyday. |
